How to apply lipstick

Condividi

Lipstick adds the finishing touch to makeup. It ' should help unite the other colors you have used and really bring your face alive. However, if it is badly applied, it will look clumsy and unsubtle. The answer is to use a lip liner to give lips a neat, defined edge and to build up color using a lip brush. To make the most of your individual lip shape, or to correct a particular problem, see Effects for Lips.

1 - Soften lips by gently rubbing on a small amount of moisturizer. This will help the lipstick to glide on more easily.

2 - Apply a very light touch of your normal foundation lo act as a base and help even out the color.

3 - Outline the natural edge of the lips with a lip liner that is not more than one shade darker than your chosen lip color. This keeps color from bleeding and gives a guideline for applying lipstick.

4 - Use a lip brush to apply lipstick; this gives you more control over direction. Relax your mouth so that it falls slightly open and brush on color from the corners to the middle point of both lips.

5 - Press lips gently with a tissue, but be careful nol to smudge the color or to remove too much. Then brush on more color to create a deeper effect.

6 - For a matte effect, dust lips lightly with translucent powder using a powder brush. For a shiny finish, use a clear or colored lip gloss on top of lipstick.

Tips

If you find it hard to keep your hand steady while applying lip liner, try placing dots at strategic points around your lips and then connecting them. Be careful nol to make the dots too large.

To prevent lipstick from sticking to your teeth, put a finger inside your mouth and draw out slowly to remove any excess from the inside of the lips.

Lip linen are easier to sharpen if you put them in the refrigerator for

about 30 minutes beforehand.
