Face Powders

Powder will add the finishing touch to your foundation and help maintain a fresh, smooth look throughout the day. You can also use powder just on its own for a very natural effect. But whether you are using a loose powder or a pressed powder, never put too much on, and be particularly careful around the eyes, where powder can easily settle into fine lines and so accentuate them. For extra protection, choose a powder that has an added sunscreen or moisturizer.

Loose FacE Powders

Available in a range of colors lo suit all skin tones, as well as shades to correct different complexions, loose face powder is used to "set" liquid foundation and control shine.

Pressed Face Powders

Also available in a range of colors, pressed powders are easier 10 carry around than loose powders and provide a convenient way of touching up your makeup throughout the day.

Blushers

Once you know how to apply blusher properly to highlight and define your cheekbones (see Applying Blusher on pages 80-81), it will become an invaluable part of your makeup. Todays blushers contain ultra-fine powder panicles to give the skin a natural finish and to prevent harsh lines. Powder blusher is the most popular form as it is the easiest to blend; apply it after foundation but before face powder. Be sure your blusher and lipstick arc similar in tone.
